It’s all about the right gear. When I used to run consistently, I’d run outside as long as it was above 10 degrees or so in Chicago. [I’ve run colder than that - it’s doable but just not fun] I. have done multiple spring marathons training through Chicago winters.
Dress like it’s 20-25 degrees warmer than it actually is. It is very easy to overdress.
Merino wool - Ice Breaker or Smart Wool is best friend. socks, baselayer, a hat - I really love Ice Breaker.
tights: sugoi midzero for the 30s and sugoi subzero below 30. under armour cold gear is also solid.
A mid layer and a solid running jacket. for your running jacket - The Brooks stuff is amazing. make sure it’s water proof and a hood is great to have.
Warm up inside [jumping jacks, lunges, squats] before you go outside.
When you finish, get dry as quickly as possible!
You move out of state… i was never able to run outside when it was below 50

Tights, long sleeve running top over sport bra and tank, VERY thin gloves, ear warmers, merino running socks.
I wear a mask/something to cover my nose and mouth because my biggest struggle is breathing in cold air
I was wondering about this! My biggest issue running in the cold is that it hurts my throat to breathe in really cold air.
It also helps to acclimate yourself, in addition to the right clothes. Keep running as the temperature starts to fall and it won't be as bad in the dead of winter.
Toughen up buttercup
Wear warmer clothes. But really, I suggest you learn to love the cold. Make it your best friend.
How you come to like something you don’t like is usually quite specific to the individual. For me, and for running specifically, I do this.
(1) Smile, baby, smile. I’m alive, my legs work, my lungs work. Feels good. Really good.
(2) Play. Play like you used to when you were a kid. Jump into a big mound of snow and conquer it.
(3) Get distracted. See a car stuck in the snow trying to get out? Give them a good push, wish them a good day, and then get back on your merry way running.
(4) take a nice warm shower. And remember that it only feels as good as it does because you earned it.
How cold you taking?
Where I live it gets so cold you stop running and start cross country skiing

I run inside 😶
I’m finding it a struggle with the drop in temperature. Especially first thing in the morning

I moved to FL to get around this. But you can wear a light hoodie and you’ll be fine too.
Embrace it…you burn more calories running in the cold vs heat
