If the free food is what's motivating you, I think you need to try a new shop or reconsider your career path.
Yeah I wasn’t in it originally for the food/swag (I didn’t even know it was a thing tbh) but it was the only entry level position at the time. Thinking about a different move department wise
I do. Got burnt out on the agency side, went client side, miss the agency life.
The biggest things I can say is pay is better and work life balance. I regularly do a 9-5 and work from home. Also a large pay increase going that way. But, my annual raises were bigger on the agency side but I think I am the exception. Also, my last agency had better benefits at lower cost than what I have as options on client side
I only work cuz I have to in order to survive in this world. I can’t wait to retire!
Yeah I feel.
I can definitely relate to this. The work honestly feels pointless as the client dictates a lot of direction. I am a senior associate on the direct investment side and feel underpaid as planners get paid the same amount but do way less work. Getting paid $55.5k with OT does not motivate me to go above and beyond for the client.
