How does CISSP verify your security related work experience? Does having experience in pen testing remediation, security testing(sql injection, authentication bypass etc) counts towards the security experience even if your job role is not security related?

They mostly just take your and your reference’s word for it, though they do reserve the right to audit you (and they do follow through on that)

yes, that absolutely falls under one of the domains. Upon passing the test, you will go through a process of entering your work experience and selecting which domains you believe that experience falls under. If you have an endorser, they will review your application and sign off. If you don't ISC2 will review your application.

Thank You BAH1 and KPMG1. Who can be an endorser or reviewer? Can it be your manager at work or someone else who has completed CISSP already?

Thanks to both of you!!👍🏻

Can anyone recommend books they’ve found helpful for L&E matters, privacy matters, product matters, or marketing/advertising matters?

Hi Fishes,
I have an experience of 6 years in Production and Application Support. I have worked as middleware administrator as well for Jboss and Weblogic.
But due to the diminishing demands of the role in IT industry , I am planning to switch my career in Devops or AWS which would help me grow.
But I am not sure without any practical knowledge, will I get a job at this many years of experience in a different profile.
Do companies hire for AWS profiles with good packages at beginners level?

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

I’m having my annual review this week. Any advice on how to handle a) job offer b) review?

Starting us off with an important tip: Your resume is a marketing document, not an autobiography. It should include relevant jobs, responsibilities, and perhaps most importantly, achievements. Where you can quantify an accomplishment or just talk up a major project you led at work or in an internship, do so. The point is to make the hiring manager think, “Wow, I need to talk to this person! They seem like a good fit!”

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!
