The new PMP is totally qualitative. You need to know what the equations are for and what the results mean but didn’t have a single math question.
Well that’s just not true... there are math questions on there
What’s challenging about the PMP for consultants is that the questions assume answers from client utopia. The client has endless money, resources, and the willingness to make trade-offs. They tuck real world answers in there and they are never the right PMI world answer.
Also, the questions are gathered globally in native languages. Sometimes you will come across a question that has been oddly translated and may not make sense. Those get weeded out from version to version, but can be head scratchers when you see them.
Pro
There is nothing quantitative in project management.
Unless they include a section in glittering turds and fudging budget numbers.
There’s some light math around scheduling, task sequencing, and slack.
Rising Star
The calculus of PMP is largely qualitative with a splash of quantitative. Easy peasy once you wrap your head around it.
In other words, no sweat.
