How important is a 5K difference in salary for a senior analyst position between 2 agencies when deciding? I’m choosing the look at it more in terms of the growth of the capability and the client.

After tax, that’s nothing but if here’s more growth in the company that’s offering you less, that’ll get you further in your career and the $$$ will come

5,000 * .65 (65% take home) /12/2 = $135 check. Is it worth passing up a better opportunity for that?

like

Relative to your own financial needs too. Also consider what your company growth looks like? How often do promotions happen? Are you going to be on an account that challenges you?

like

$5k isn’t worth moving!

I think you are thinking about this in the right way. Seems a negligible difference in take home. Go where you will learn and grow.

If it's not a lot to you, it's certainly not a lot to the company so why couldn't they match the higher offer?

Pick the one where you can learn more data science

I would keep looking. If you’re wanting to make a change it should check all the boxes. Believe me, the right opportunity is out there 😉

Not worth it

Look at the experience & degrees of people above you

But you better be getting above 50k

Definitely look at what you’ll be working on and environment of the team and company

What is the % difference. If it’s 1% who cares. If it is 10% that’s a pretty big difference.

If they are the same to you, take the one that pays more. Credit to freelance 1 for the math, but hats $135 per check that you can put towards investments

Show the stingier agency the higher offer and see if they match it. There are maybe 3 shops in the industry where it would make sense to work for less money.
