How many bullet points is too many for 1 position? I've only had intern, associate, senior (for 1 month) experience at the same firm. Add in the education and other stuff, and I can't quite reach 1 page unless I load up on the associate experience (10+ bullets).

What are your margins, spacing, and header/contact info like? Personally I’d say 10 is too many

like

0.5 margins all around, single space, contact info is in 1 line. Summary is 5 lines with skills below that. 10 point font. I agree the 10 bullets looks a bit much.

Increase font. Easy solution. If you get to 18 you've gone too far 😂

like

Do you volunteer ? What about technical skills? You have done something different in each role (just have to dig deep very deep), try and and :
-maintain consistency among number of bullets for each position, for example all having 3 to 5 bullets each vs 1 have 2 and another having 6.
- Margin size . 5 to 1 inch.
- Font size 10 to 12.5.
- Having a header will also help.
- you can also increase the spacing between lines to maybe 1.15 , nothing more than that .

Don’t add any fluff. Make sure you make strategic use of white space, and include only info relevant to the position.

If you have a mostly full page, it’s better than having a full page with some bs in it.

What about leadership positions ?

Is that applicable on job apps? I do have 1 line saying I was involved in certain firm initiatives but I didn't list them all out.

Are you splitting bullet points by role?

Yeah I've got like 5 bullets each for senior and intern. Associate has 10 but probably need to cut down.

Senior and intern experience combined is like 4 months, but associate is like 2.5 years, which is why it ended up so lopsided.

Associate experience in public accounting is pretty similar across firms in PA. We’ve all been there and know exactly what an associate position entails, you don’t need 10 bullet points of fluff.

Yeah unique stuff is good for sure, I thought you meant like generic “create workpapers, input data in Excel, prep tax returns” etc. Yeah anything unique or different should be noted for sure 👍

I would google and see how other resumes are filled out/formatted because it’s odd that you can’t fill out 1 page.

10 bullet points for one position seems a lot, are your bullet points quite short? Because not all accounting jobs will have an auto understanding of your role even though to us it seems quite normal, so you might need a bit more explanation.

Education, Not-for-profit experience, Referees, contact details can take up at least a third of the page. Name, title, picture (?), email, phone, qualifications. Potentially if you still need to pad it out you could add a section for clients/industries you’ve worked in? Don’t have to name names.

I'm using a format that really condenses the "non-work" stuff (contact, education, skills). I like the format but ideally I'd have 1 more job/ internship to fill out the page. Maybe just gotta up the font size from 10.

I'm looking to rearrange some of the generic stuff into senior instead. I do want to leave the unique stuff somewhere. Thanks!

So, I just joined a startup. No processes, no clear strategy, just one goal: selling. Getting leads. When ever I try to build a strategy, they (founders) swamp me with blablabla stories and not a single action plan. Is this the usual at startups? Also,no real company culture. At all. No HR. I am reaaaally struggling to get a sense of belonging here. What should I expect?? Tia

ADHD medication with high Blood Pressure?

I found ADHD meds helpful when I worked in consulting in my 20s. I stopped the meds when I went back to school. Also have had High BP since late 20s. 15 years away, I am back in consulting and loving it, however my difficulties juggling so many projects/tasks is holding me back. I know I would benifit from some ADHD medication but my Dr won’t prescribe any with my history of BP (controlled with BP meds). Anyone else gone through this? Any tips?

People who don’t submit their time daily, how do you remember what you did and for how long? I’ve always just submitted each timer as soon as I finish a task—“call with x re y” really doesn’t take that long even if I’m busy, and if I don’t do it immediately I’ll forget all those little I did in the morning by the time I go to bed. No shade at all to those with different systems, just genuinely curious because I see a lot about catching up at month end on here and I have no idea how that works??
