How many hours a week do you work? Are you happy with the amount? I’m in a season of working ~45-50 hrs per week on a project until May and I’m over it!

I'm in a routine of doing 40 hours and I've been able to rein it in at that. There have been times when I got roped into putting in more hours, but things have calmed down. Now that I mentioned it, I may have jinxed myself and next week some crazy project will land on us.

I average about 40 hours, sometimes a little bit more, sometimes a little bit less. It usually averages out, though, and I don't necessarily feel overworked or underworked. I know some people who only work, like, 30 hours a week and I wonder how they get away with it.

I’m working 40 hours but I put in about 10-15 hours a week into side gigs. If I land a new role with better pay I rather just focus on that even if it’s longer hours.

I ran my own business for 15 years out of high school and all that time I only worked half days! Just 7 to 7. Saturday was a short day. Only 9 to 5. Then there were the conventions most Sundays.

I couldn't work more than that. I got tired.

Now that I got laid off from a job I had for 30 years (working 37.5 to 40 hours/week) I'm working zero hours and would like more.

7 to 4 M-F... so around 45h but i still take breaks so for sure is not 45h but I am never sure people ever count their actual work hours not the on-site or available hours

Forty five to fifty hours can feel manageable for a short season, but it becomes draining if it continues long term. I usually ask whether the pace is temporary or becoming the new normal.

I work 37.5 hours! Hate to say it but I think it's crazy people that work 50+...

Name the most ridiculous micro-managing by partners that you experience.

I’ll go first: MP told me that on initial emails, I am always to start with “Hello [name],” but after the initial email, I am not to address her by name again in the same thread. Initial greeting can only be “Hello [name] ” because just first name is too brisk and a “Hi [name]” is too informal. Had a 5 minute, in depth conversation as to why she prefers it this way…

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

Can anyone explain the difference between PWC SDC, PWC AC and PWC India?

I am trying to get into PWC. here are a few things I have heard so far. Is this fairly accurate?

1. PwC AC is offshore counterpart of PwC US. Good salary. No travel opportunities. Average yearly hike ~10% Mostly technical work.
2 PwC India is a pure consulting firm. Salary better than PwC AC. client facing work. Can grow as a management consultant. Great Travel opportunities.

3. Work life balance depends on Project and managers you work with
4. Inside opportunities if you're the creamy layer
