I set up billing templates for contact centers around the world and the US consistently has the least amount of holidays…it’s kinda embarrassing.
We get Memorial Day, 4th of July, the day after the 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas, and New Years Day off. But we are given 2 “floating holidays” that we can use whenever. Basically like 2 extra PTO days without having to use PTO.
10 days. Depending on the location and department, you may have a different schedule. My facility has New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and a floating holiday.
Subtracting weekends, 30 days pto plus national holidays I work an average of 220 days per year.
For higher qualified jobs 30 days pto pa is pretty standard in germany. Also the main reason I don't move to the US.
12 holidays - New Years Day, President’s Day, MLK, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas, and two additional floating holidays that vary year to year based upon where holidays fall. For example, this year we get July 4th and 5th. I believe the other one is either the 24th or 26th of December. The holidays varies from site to site though we all get 12. We also get 2 personal days and a “wellness” day. These are in addition to our PTO.
We get 6 holidays per year. My employer always gives the bare minimum.
25 PTO and all fed holidays..
New hires start at 3 wks PTO, 2 wks sick time, 2 floaters, 5 volunteer days, company shutdown between Xmas and New years, mini shutdown around July 4th, and the usual 7 holidays that everyone gets. Plus summer Fridays.
At my company, we actually offer 12 paid holidays. Your list sounds pretty solid, especially with Good and Black Fridays off. Those are definitely nice bonuses! But I totally get what you mean about most of the holidays being clustered towards the end of the year. It can feel a bit lopsided, especially if you're itching for a break during other times of the year.
