Most industry jobs are 2 weeks (10 days) unless it is public accounting, which is Unlimited PTO (4-6 weeks).
Not all public accounting is unlimited. We have set days (thank goodness)
When in industry I have always been able to negotiate and extra week or two. They try to pass 2 weeks, but it can be negotiated. In consulting it’s more generous.
I'm in industry, and have been here for 14 years. They give us weeks based on company tenure, and I get 7 weeks, including holidays! I've been flex the last 10 years, now just getting benefits again. I forgot I got this much pto. I won't use it all, but I'll be able to cash out what I don't use. I'm so happy! However I have a staff not getting her work done. We are allowed not to book appts to PTO, as long as we do OT in busy times. She never works OT, and is taking advantage of this still, but I don't know if it's worth talking to the director about this. I'm a new manager. I know the technical side very well, can do that in my sleep. But learning the employee management is harder for me. This particular employee continues to do less and less, and HR tells us we don't have enough proof to fire.
15 PTO plus holidays
I think PTO varies a lot depending on the firm and location, but typically, you might see anywhere from 10 to 15 days for new employees. Larger firms or those with more generous benefits may offer more. How’s your company’s PTO structure looking?
CR does 5 weeks for associate/senior and 6 weeks for managers and up, plus holidays. Office is closed 4th of July week and Thanksgiving week, so I look at it as 8 weeks PTO
I had 22 as a senior. 25 now
20 vacation plus sick days and holidays
21 plus sick days and holidays
O I believe that 15 days plus holidays is the norm
I’ve been with my company for almost 8 years. I now have 31 PTO/Sick days plus 10 holidays
