Too many times. I’ve seen agencies hire a ratio of 20 white people to 1 bipoc, even after promising more diverse hiring.
Unfortunately, It's just lip service at many companies!
Don't work at my University then. The administration here does absolutely nothing but keep up appearances with Title VII, Title IX, etc. We have gone through numerous EO directors, and everyone knows the legal department does nothing but cover the University's a** in discrimination and sexual harassment cases. One of our first EO directors actually sued the University at one point for hindering her ability to enforce Title IX policies in a sexual assault case. This place is so corrupt it's ridiculous.
Wow. Thank you for sharing.
My org talks a lot about diversity during Q1 every year, after our annual diversity training happens--lots of, "I value your unique perspective, so-and-so," in emails--and then, when management feel like they've performed inclusion enough, things go right back to the way they always were. It's frustrating.
All we do is hire friends and relatives of higher ups 🙃 even refilled a dissolved role with the daughter of a former c suite and current board member. Sick of DEI and hiring lies
I wish there was more accountability at the top. People want to say they're an ally but don't want to put in the effort
Hundreds of times. At nearly every agency I’ve ever seen or worked at. WPP and IPG have lengthy online courses you have to go through that are situational. Once you “pass” this, you’re done and no more is said about diversity.
Too many times
This thread is crazy racist. lol
The company doesn’t revolve around one persons view. Thankfully. I’ve tried to have employment programming instilled at my organization and they’re trying. It’s slow moving.
I have. They even hired white interns and although I am several levels above them, they don’t have to answer to me. They love that and I am humiliated by it. I am treated like I too am entry level despite my title, education and experience. If I resist this, I am met with hostility.
