I think you can/should try to ask for more, but idk how compensation increases work and if its purely location based or if it needs to be related to merit.
If it helps, I have 12 years industry experience, 2 years as an AD, make $185k annual, 20%bonus, LTI target is 20% (not guaranteed). I also live in PA in a low/medium cost of living area. For reference, 2100 sq ft house, .25 acre, 3 beds 2.5 bath house cost $300k 5 years ago in a good school district with low taxes...
That’s really helpful and thanks for providing that cost of living comparison. Bay Area is just ridiculous to own a house right now or in the future with pharma salaries... Also applying for east coast positions.
How many years of experience and what function?

$210K is on the very high range for AD
But we need to here which dept and # years experience
The situation is bc you are a highly paid senior manager.
No, reasonable esp for that area. I think it depends on whether it’s mid size or larger pharma though. Some pay directors even at the 200k level but I know older ADs at the 230 mark here in the Midwest. Titling is inconsistent.
Typically big pharma (Pfizer/JJ/Lilly) pays worse in my experience. Midsize have harder time recruiting and shell out more.
If youre earlier career then exploration makes sense. Just don’t burn bridges and you can always go back.
I have fam here, good COL, and a good package.
