One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). Since we’ve all been working from home for months now, what’s the best office chair out that y’all are using for our long work from home hours? Looking to invest in a better one than my ~$150 one from Amazon.

I left my last company because I was never assigned any work to do and spent most of my day staring at the walls in my room, averaged 5-6 hours of work a week. I’ve been in my new role for about 6 months and no matter how much I offer to help I am still assigned very little actual work and average a few hours a week. First world problems I know but I just want to learn and grow professionally!

Just jumped from 60K —> 110K after 2 years of being very underpaid although being considered a “top performer”.

If you’re on the fence about jumping to another firm or starting to look elsewhere, realize that loyalty is often only skin deep in consulting. Prioritize your career goals, whether they be financial otherwise. Praise and appreciation are nice, but don’t let ANYONE make you feel bad about choices you make for your happiness.
