Bain & Company Hey! Got dinged at BCG and Mck and then hadn't heard back from Bain, but just found out I made it to final rounds. I haven't been prepping for over a week as it'd be two since my first round at Bain.
Help! Whats different or similar about Bain final rounds? I'm applying to Texas offices for an experienced AC role. I also may have to have an accelerated final round as I'm leaving the country for most of April. Bain & Company

Lol, y’all actually got your first jobs after college?! My first job was bailing hay for a farmer and I made $20/day, come to find out the $20 was actually from my dad and my labor was traded for a discount on that hay. I wasn’t even in high school yet. Must’ve been nice 😂😂😂😂

My first "real" job right out of college I started in June 2019 making 55k (hourly, ended up being closer to 65k with overtime for a full year 2020). 2021 I make 62k (hourly still), will be breaking 75k, with profit sharing this year closer to 85k. Reading through the comments I realized people should really normalize talking about their salaries, it gives others without an opportunity to know their worth and negotiate. Too many companies take advantage of good loyal employees who don't know better
Absolutely. Not openly discussing salaries only benefits employers that want to pay you less because you don't know what the rest of the market makes.
First job in 2007 - $80k
Now - $600k
First job in high school: Ski Instructor, age 16, $11 per hour
First job out college: Big4 Tech Consultant, age 22, $60k tc
Second job: Big4 Strategy Consultant, age 23, $105k tc
Third job: FAANG Data Scientist, age 26, $250k tc ($175k base)
First job was Google out of college for years ago. Entry level SWE, started with about 110k base and was given roughly 135 RSUs over 4 years.
My total comp by the end of this year (I’ve now been at google for 4 years, same team, 1 promo) will be about 340k. This is an atypical year because of a lot of my stock grants vesting a lot this year.
Next year will be a bit more “normal” and be closer to 270-300k
I was 11 years old in my first job. I made 3 euro an hour for 3.5 hours work on a Saturday.
My first post college job I made 35000, but this salary was less than I had been making waitressing during college.
My first job after my masters I made 22000 - took a grossly underpaid position to get into this industry- 8 years on from this I'm making $250k

I made $5.25 / hour (minimum wage at the time) working at a local recreation center at the age of 14.
I make $118k (base) now at 36, with 12 years professional IT experience.
7 years professional experience in IT, just became 38 and currently make about 24k (I'm in Colombia so yeah). Glad to know there is a brighter path.
First job - 5.75 an hour in retail (20 years ago)
First career salary - 78k in communication sales
Now, after moving to a different career field - 30k in GIS (entry level). It absolutely sucks to take the giant pay cut but I couldn't be happier with the work and my stress level is non-existent. 🤷🏻♀️
First job in 2010 was $32k straight out of college mid-recession. Now I make $107k after bonus and I am told by others in same position that we are all making way less than we should be for our role/industry. I've also heard that anyone who joins the workforce during a recession will have lasting negative impact on their salary for at least a decade.
Decade is over
2004: Graphic designer fresh out of school. $27k/year in SoCal.
2008: Furloughed at that same company. Pay reduced to $25k/year, but still had to work 40 hours/week. Life was ROUGH.

2020: Product designer making $120k/year at a tech start up
2021: Promoted to senior PD, with a salary bump to a whopping $125k/year. Not thrilled about it.
My first job is the job I’m still at. I started in 2019 a month after I graduated at $102k TC. Two years later, I currently make $150k TC
