Lol, y’all actually got your first jobs after college?! My first job was bailing hay for a farmer and I made $20/day, come to find out the $20 was actually from my dad and my labor was traded for a discount on that hay. I wasn’t even in high school yet. Must’ve been nice 😂😂😂😂

My first "real" job right out of college I started in June 2019 making 55k (hourly, ended up being closer to 65k with overtime for a full year 2020). 2021 I make 62k (hourly still), will be breaking 75k, with profit sharing this year closer to 85k. Reading through the comments I realized people should really normalize talking about their salaries, it gives others without an opportunity to know their worth and negotiate. Too many companies take advantage of good loyal employees who don't know better
Absolutely. Not openly discussing salaries only benefits employers that want to pay you less because you don't know what the rest of the market makes.
Heh, my first tech job was $8/hr in 1997. Now: over 400k TC
First job at 16 (2016) $8.25/hr at a coffee shop.
Second job at 18 (2018) $16.50/hr as an HR Generalist intern at a recently acquired startup.
Third job at 18 (2018) $16.50/hr as a Certified Pharmacy Tech at a national pharmacy. (Highest paid non senior tech in the store).
Fourth job at 19 (2019) $15/hr at a tech company's retail location.
Fifth job at 20 (2020) $60k base ~$20k in commision paid sporadically with a pharmaceutical support brand. (Youngest person in the entire company).
I have worked very hard at all my jobs and have tailored each job I have taken to develop skills and have my job history tell a story. I haven't finished my degree yet but plan on doing completing in 2 years. Trying to achieve a TCP of $150k before then to tell the system to shove it.

My first job at 18 years old was at Express in sales for 7.25 an hour.
My first job after college and the military was for 75K at 23 years old.
I’m 25 now with a year and half of experience and making my first career move into a promotion.
at IBM I made $54K plus commissions in Sales that went up to $75K+. I switched to product management in software and made $120K which went up to $154K. ....and then moved to hardware and make $116K plus bonuses. All in the same city.

Just got my first full-time job (I graduated college a couple of months ago) and I'm making about 60k. I was really happy with the offer I recieved and feel like I'm being paid more than fairly for the work I do.
Not my first job, but the first one where I remember what I was earning - 1993 - making $4.25 per hour working at a fast-food restaurant; 2021 - just accepted a salaried position offer where I will be making more than $57.00 per hour equivalent...
