24/$5k 401k/$0 cash ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Wow fuck you guys lol. I’m 26 in NYC with loans and not one cent of help from my parents for anything so I have $1,500 saved lmao
52 $1.1 million. Thank you Trump
45/10k
26 - $30k in 401k, 15k cash
29/ $80k cash and stocks/IRA, $90k 401k
@CD4 I just spit out my coffee laughing at your comment—thank you for that.
100k cash, 150k retirement. I’m 35.
36/400k. No property, 24k in cash, the rest in investments. I consider myself an outlier, as I only got my money act together in my mid-20s. Went to a state school so my student loans are low, lived with roommates in big cities before moving in with my partner.

31 / $100k cash + $100k retirement
Some good advice in here. Definitely emergency fund, 3 months if you can, more even better. And do all you can to hit company match % of 401k, how many other investments double your money instantly ?
Not enough
27/13k 401K/30K cash
Amen dude, that’s what I am doing!
$24,500 @ 46. Pathetic, I know.
@sr producer 1: how???? What city have you been working in? Always full time? Good for you!!!
@CW9 NYC but i don’t live in the city. First day on the job out of school I set my 401k to its max and pretended that I never had that money. I budgeted around it and it’s grown very well. I will continue to do this (god willing) until i retire.
I also have a side business that’s helped me get through the rough moments and allowed me to invest in other areas. My full time job essentially just allows me to live. I do not have student debt; so that helped significantly.
Side note: Some people on here are suggesting not to buy a house. However, property is a very smart investment if done correctly.
Idk where y'all work but I'm 28 with $20k in my 401k (only because my parents lied to me and said I should put in 20% which I only realized recently isn't normal) and enough to pay rent in my checking.
24 - SL (125k). I'm more likely to help my mom than my mom is to help me. But I've just started too...🤷🏽♀️🙃
Nothing , zip, Nada
You should only put into your 401k the max of what your company will match every year. No way that's 20%. The rest should go into investments or high yield options.
