Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

It's grown increasingly more important, which I think is the norm for most people. When you're first starting out in your career, there's a tendency to do anything to get ahead, even if it comes at the expense of your personal life. As you get more established in your career, I think most - myself included - start to prioritize the other things we didn't make time for earlier.

When I was younger, I didn't care, I would work how ever long and work days off. Now I value my personal time much more. I personally wouldn't care if I had to work over a little or even a few hours of it's not a regular thing but I have learned that most things can wait and when it's time to go to just log off.

Companies will take everything you will give and ask for more. Set boundaries or burn out and hate life.
Personally? 40-45 hours on a normal week. 50-60 on weeks when I'm traveling for work (including travel time) because I have nothing else to do.
Life balance should be priority always, as we noticed corporate America will kick you ass out just to have good Results for the shareholders
When I was younger, I used to work overnight shifts. One reason was the job was very challenging, and I wanted to prove myself. Now, I value my personal time more. I do not believe the ideology that those who work late are the hardworking employees. It is never about the hours; it is about the results.
