We have a pension? Lol?
EY2 - it was worth more than that, and it ramped up quickly. 5 years at EY would have gotten you a guaranteed $15-$20k PER YEAR in retirement. Now, 5 years at EY gets you about $35-40K lump sum payment in retirement. The difference between the old plan and new plan is literally hundreds of thousands of dollars for your average employee.
They fund all of it but it's not a direct percentage. You need to pull your personal retirement report to see what yours shows.
But there has to be certain percentage right? I am trying to figure that
Depends on age and years of service. Starts out real low... Like 2% and increments in 1/4% points. Cash allocated to you accrues interest at 4%.
Not sure exactly what it was before, but I remember seeing that it was worth staying here the 30 years to get it. 30-40% of your salary guaranteed for life.
Pension plan contributions aren't linked to individuals necessarily. I think EYs plan is well funded so no requirement to fund anything but the firm typically does. I'd search the intranet to see if you can find a summary plan description (SPD) for the individual contribution rates now, they are tiered based on age and service.
If I leave after two years with the firm I don't get anything right? I think the vesting takes place over 5 years?
It's now one year, but you would get very little.
