It doesn't sound that bad.....but to be honest that's a very basic interview question, you should have had several great responses lined up
Sorry his title is "HR Manager". I had great connection with the actual manager I will be working with so hope that holds more weight
You might still get an offer. That's one of those textbook questions that is designed to confuse. If the person you're working with doesn't care you're probably fine.
I don't think HR has a lot to say other than getting you in and set up the interview with right department. If you have interviewed with the relevant department and it went well. I would not give a lot of importance to HR interview. 😋
^search "behavioral interview questions". It's usually a very common question. Prep better next time if it doesn't work out.
Thinking about having to interview again keeps me from quitting every single day
Everything went well at first but one bad unexpected answer had me trying to recover but instead I dug myself deeper.
I believe the hiring manager usually makes the hiring decision? That's why you refer to them as the "hiring manager". Do you mean the HR person you interviewed with? It depends on the firm but usually the people who interview you could all say "Red flag do not hire".
Need more details. What was the screw up answer to the question?
The gist of it was he asked if things ever went wrong and how did I reslove them. I mentioned a time things weren't communicated properly and we should have used a different approach but I ended up saying something negative like "I should have asked more questions and used a wrong approach" He took it as it was my fault and material things slipped through which wasn't the case. I was not expecting the question and replied with a quick response which failed me. I had some poor choice or words.
Thanks guys, I feel a little more releif. It's been killing me.
@KPMG2 Yes I do agree with that unfortunately . Bad planning on my part. I've had that question asked before but something threw me off this time. I don't know what happened to me.
@PWC2 lol seriously it's such a headache. Trying to find a way to get away from the client on short notice for interview then preparing & thank you emails & the nervousness. Rejection/acceptance blah blah hoblah. Can I just die or do I need to have a formal discussion for that too.
