If you’re not in SF, but in the broader Bay Area, you could be at ~180K+ and do okay. Make concessions here and there, be smart with your money. Don’t try and compete with the Joneses

I have a LOT of credit card debt. It has just grown over time and I can’t find my way out. I used to dot net dev, had a server deployment role, then into etl database testing and finally got an opportunity for full stack dev. I have even led small teams and been scrum master

I am trying to justify house buying in HCOL city. The house cost is minimum 1.4m .monthly mortgage would be at least 7k(with just around 2k principal) rest goes to either int,tax. Not to mention regular house maintenance. How is it better than 3.5k rental. I understand appreciation and own house independence. But I am just trying to make numbers work.
