How much time would it take to study FAR and REG full time (8hrs+ / day)

Hey Fishes! Wanting to move back to the gulf from US. What are some companies that pays HR consultants/experts well if I dont want to go consulting route? Middle management HR with around 15 years of total experience.

How many of you confronted the decision to stay on the technical IC track or management? I have done both, and find management more rewarding at smaller companies or in research roles. In bigger companies, I hated spending all my time in meetings and felt my technical skills atrophying. I always been drawn and motivated more by the making process. How about your thoughts and experiences.

Hey all, started my role as a recruiter at an agency recently and had my first placement! It was great until the candidate wants to renegotiate the base and benefits after the current company counter-offered when the candidate no longer sees the future. Any tips on what to say to bring back to focus? The current role is a Sr. Acct Receivable (less than 2yr) and going into collections specialist at a global law firm.

If I leave my consulting role and move to a recruiting role at Accenture for a year to build skills, will it be hard to go back into a tech role? I have experience in Change Mangement and Project Management, but I temporarily want a change. Eventually I want to move to a role at FAANG

I have my Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration along with 13 years of experience in healthcare. My experience ranges from medical coding, biller/AR specialist, patient financial advocate, and since 2019 my role is in the Quality department as a health care data analyst.

I just spoke with a software architect that went back to school to learn software engineering after law school because it was more lucrative and had less hours. He’s worked his way up and has the skills and authority to work 6:30am-10am and gets to work remotely. We discussed that results/outputs is better than billable time like in law and public accounting. Yet, his parents and others would view him as “lazy” but he does his job and makes a fantastic living. Time>Money and Results>Hours

I recommended a candidate for hire to a manager that reports directly to me. This person is a perfect match, but wanted the manager to obviously recommend. It has to be a fit. The manager just told me my recommendation is not her top pick. I feel frustrated because as much as we talk about the position, I wonder if we are mot aligned on criteria. What do I do? Do I push more for the person I want or will I cause an issue with the hiring manager? How do I get her to see this person’s value?

Just walked out of FAR test, literally cried after submitting it. SIMS were something I got ripped off by, can say clearly 4 out of 8 sims I kind of missed completely...😭😭😭 don’t know if I can ever get over this

California peeps. I have a feeling I failed FAR, which is my last exam, but my score isn’t released until May 11. Can I submit the reapplication with the CA Board of Accountancy to speed up the retake and NTS process in case I failed? Or do I need to get my exam score first? I need to pass by mid June, else my REG score expires, hence the rush to resubmit the re-application.

Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.
