They barely ever happen at my company thankfully. The only time they do is when its some sort of lunch being provided type meeting and then I don't complain because I am getting a free meal haha.
I was on a team where we had a rule: no lunch time meetings unless you are providing lunch. We had a decent cafeteria that delivered to our conference rooms. We had a tight project schedule with a decent budget. Boss usually signed off. Got a lot of free lunches while sitting through stupid Design FMEA meetings!
1-2 days a week, but never for technical meetings. It's always a short notice meeting with director or above who are understandably meeting-bound.
Never. I think stuff like this is established by precedent set by area leads.
So you get no lunch break or you get a late lunch break?

Then you need to block off that time on your calendar. If people book during 'you' time that you need to eat and think, put it as busy on the cal.
It happens all the time. As an engineering professional, flex your time accordingly. If this means you won't get a break and you need one, then don't go, but let the meeting scheduler know why.
I block off time as “Unavailable“ or “Do not schedule.” Sometimes it’s necessary, but I protect that time in the calendar Pretty fiercely.
I guess it would depend on your level of leadership/title. We always block lunch for lunch but when issues arise or we need to interview a candidate, we use the lunch hour. Unfortunately, if you are salaried it is an unspoken rule that you don’t get a lunch. For hourly employees and managers and below, you get your lunch or a lunch and learn meeting. If your calendar is blocked during lunch hours and you are needed in a meeting, I ask you if you can attend or if you really need the time.
