My best friends are in group chats. So we send memes and have group convos most days. Depending on what’s going on we could talk consecutive days or not actually speak for 2 months.
In group chats with childhood friends, it helps us keep in touch. Memes, life birthdays and other life events keep us in touch. Harder the older you get especially since we’re all in different places in our lives. Married, divorced, single never been married, kids, no kids, etc.
Regardless of how busy my life is, I make time to talk with my best friend, at least three times a week. We also make it a plan to do some thing together, at least once a month.
Yes, as you get older, you find it changes. The key is to understand it, and adjust. My besties and I practically lived together, now we see each other whenever we do because life does what it does. But like everyone else said, group chats are cool. We try to do an annual girls trip. We also do an "impromptu" here and there. Which consists of "What are you doing? Let's..." and we randomly meet and hang out at one of our houses or a restaurant. I have found that true friends remain so whether you speak daily or monthly.
