I’m retired and have a near 8 figure liquid net worth and the best car I ever bought was a Subaru Outback. That said, if a luxury car is important to you, who cares what other people think?
We’re all friends here
Save your money and invest for retirement. Buy the nicer car when the kids move out or you retire.
What car(s) are you considering? Honestly unless you are targeting flagship luxury models that cost $100k+ like an S Class, Escalade, etc., you are definitely not too junior.
No one will bat an eye at a 30-something year old lawyer driving a mid-level luxury car like a Lexus RX350 or Audi A5.
As a prior owner of six luxury cars and a Honda, stick with the Honda. Luxury cars are a waste of money. Save your money and retire earlier.
35. Mclaren
Edit: obviously not my daily driver. We also have 2 range rovers.
A1 got it. now lets visit jabba’s son, he has some estate issues arising from inheriting his dads criminal enterprise
I'm 34, I just bought my first brand new vehicle. Wouldn't call it a "luxury" vehicle but it was the exact vehicle I wanted and have had my eye on for years.
35, but felt weird going too flashy. Got a gv80 and it’s perfect
I bought a used bmw at 23 and over 10 years later, he’s still with me. I cant justify today’s price tag unless it is used. P
Go ahead and get a suburban. Kids will trash your car
Do you spend a lot of time in your car? If not, it isn’t worth it. Kids would probably just trash it anyways.
As fancy as I got was an Infiniti but as soonnnn as o could I got rid of it. It’s so much easier have a normal car with kids! Less headache for even tiny messes
You are probably fine getting a luxury car/suv if that is what you want. Unless it is something really over the top, no one will likely comment beyond niceties the first time they see you in it. Having owned a bunch of cars during my legal career from a Honda Civic to a large Mercedes SUV and everything in between, no one seems to care much about what you drive and it won't change your life much either.
