I applied to Amazon job in LinkedIn . Got a mail to complete a Hacker Earth test from Amazon . But i felt not prepared and didn't even try it thinking i might fail and they might not shortlist me the next time when i apply again after preparing .
Do they track any data like who didn't attend the test so they can ignore them next time? Or if i prepare good enough and reapply again after 3 to 4 months would this cause any issue?

Tough one. HR groups are crazy understaffed right now, but even in the best of times HR isn't known for being awesome.
I try not not to assume it's indicative of how the company is run, but I'm regularly surprised as to how many companies don't recognize HR is the first impression an applicant has of the firm.
One was industry - Pegasystems to be exact, both hiring managers and recruiting worked hard to move process along and truly seemed to want me on the team..I chose not to pursue it due to travel demands were a little higher than I wanted…so I went to current firm.
Current firm recruited me, accommodated a getting me in to interviews quickly at first then was slow to follow up, and after offer was made was dragging feet to discuss counters etc etc., so where we both agreed on terms they accommodated in writing…where I conceded, has been like it never was discussed…so manager knew what i gave up to join and after about a month after acted like it would be a huge favor to get me back to what I conceded….mind you I billed 113% of target, sold 200k above goal of zero for first year and client feedback is excellent and extended to a 6 month engagement. Current firm wanted a body that could be sold with the engagement they pitched, other firm wanted my expertise …hindsight and it showed
I would say very reflective given my past experience
