You'll survive. Christ, reading these posts, one would think you've all been raised in private jets.
Slightly less awful than spirit, which is pretty god awful. Also, add ~$70 (return) on top of the ticket price you see because they charge for carry on bags (not a typo)
Are you paying for the flight? Even for personal I'd try my hardest to not fly frontier.
All screwed up. I misplaced my boarding pass and went to the counter to get one (huge mistake). It was apparently 42 minutes prior to the flight and I had to be there at least 45 minutes early. They didn't let me board. The TSA line had zero people in line, but Frontier wouldn't let me board. I made the mistake of telling the Frontier guy that I will just pull it up on my email. He removed me from the plane. I typically don't lose my patience, but I shouted a fuck you at him. Went to a Delta counter right next to it. Bought a ticket for a plane leaving even earlier and got on it. The frontier guy was red faced all the while but he didn't apologize. I am never flying frontier again. Screw them
Spirit is the 7th circle of Hell in airline form. Do. Not. Ever.
Don't do it OP
Not much different than other economy travel. Just make sure you budget for additional nickel and dime
Spirit and frontier are fine. Just remember to add whatever the fee for a checked bag is to the total cost when you consider. It's not the most luxurious but it will get you from point a to B for pretty cheap. I've taken them both several times, but a lot of times I found that since I have a bag the Delta is actually negligible or even negative to going with a more traditional carrier. YMMV.
As someone who's a custom to getting upgraded every week at least once yeah it's not that comfortable, but I made it and it was fine. Just read the fine print carefully about exactly what you need to print out, how much fees are, etc. it's not a huge deal as long is you fall the rules. Oh, and fill up a water bottle because they won't give you a free drink :-)
Apologies for the typos you get the idea. Siri sucks ha ha
How bad is Spirit?
They are fine. As long as you only have a bag carry on that can fit under a seat. That's free. Prepare for some delays. But they are really cheap.
Same as K1, from LA to atl I arrived in my usual time at the airport and since it wasn't 1 hour prior (at that time) they didn't accept my check bags or let me get my boarding pass. I ended up paying 150$ plus change of fare to get on the flight the next day. To add insult to injury my return flight from ATL to LA was at 7am and was canceled the night before at 10 pm due to unforeseen circumstances (no pilot or not enough travelers to make a profitable flight). I needed to get to get back that day so I was forced to buy a 4x as expensive same day one way ticket as a result. My single experience was horrible.
don't do it! they delayed my flight and eventually canceled it with no real reason
