Hi, I am new to Canada and currently living in Vancouver, BC. I was looking for opportunities in the Financial Services industry in the Metro Vancouver Area. I have about 3 years of experience in the Banking/Financial Services and HealthTech industry and worked alongside IBM and PwC in developing and implementing cutting-edge FinTech products for business clients of a Financial Institution and led the Finance and data science team at a Health tech startup. Let me know if anyone can help me.

I would encourage you to ask about the burden of proof and how to showcase your boss's attitude, and its effect on you. An evil boss can be a hard thing to prove. I would want to talk to an employment lawyer about next steps and how to amicably get out of this situation.
Good that you're meeting with an employment lawyer. Ask specifically about whether the behavior constitutes a hostile work environment under your state's definition, what documentation you should be keeping (emails, timestamps, witnesses), and whether being on medical restrictions gives you any additional protections. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this. Sounds nightmarish - hope you're able to get them held to account.
I'd ask about your state laws regarding unemployment compensation to see if you would be eligible to walk out on your own. It's a stretch but also ask about workman's compensation for your mental health decline. In the meantime, I'd suggest updating a resume and start looking for something new in case things don't go your way with a lawyer. Lastly, I would look into company policies about taking a leave of absence for medical reasons if you can afford to do so.
I like your suggestion of workman's comp because her mental health will be covered as well as maybe some other things.

Conclusion: he fired me.
The nightmares have stopped and Im getting sleep again.... I have submitted a very strong case to EI, but we will see what happens. I have also contacted a paralegal who hopefully will give me some guidance.
The funny thing is, I have no one left to talk to about this, other than this forum, didnt see that coming.
I really do empathize with everyone who says their work or boss is making them sick..... It is very real.
Thank you, for the understanding.
