Answer E to all the questions and hit all the key words in your résumé. They don’t know you can tie your own shoes if you don’t put it in there.

Info sec is almost entirely covered by vets in the DC area. At my agencies when I was a fed and anecdotally from hiring manager friends at other agencies, vets block out non-vet applicants via vets preference for the overwhelming majority of info sec positions.

Everything on the questionnaire has a correct answer, even if it seems ambiguous. As in if you say that you've done a task independently but the answer was leading a team in the task, that's a point off. So you have to figure out what's appropriate for the level and document it word for word on your CV.

*I haven't done it successfully either but that's what I've been told.

I want to take some time off to unwind, finish some personal business, and really prepare for interviews. I would like to hear from you. Should I quit to my current manager(5th so far) or wait after mid year performance review, when a new boss will take over my team? I'm thinking on giving them 2 months notice period. By contract is 1.

Just started in-house and my days are full of meetings with little time in between to analyze or process anything. Is this typical? I keep taking lots of notes but haven’t had a chance to really review and reflect on my notes, to follow up and investigate or do any strategic or legal analysis. Lots of on the fly work for now. Maybe it’s like this just the first few days where I’m getting the lay of the land? But I suspect it’ll be like this for a while… Any tips appreciated.
