How would you make friends at work, if you're significantly younger than all your team mates

I feel like I'm kind of an "old soul." I've always made friends with people older than myself. I try to hang out with people closer to my age, but I always feel slightly out of place lol. Just listen to them, be respectful, joke around with them, and let it happen on its own. Making friends at work takes time.

You can be friendly and they don’t have to be your actual friends that you hang out with on the weekends.
If you really want them to be your friends, then get into the activities they like!!

Have you considered NOT making friends with the people at work? I've been there and I think it can lead to some not-so-great dynamics as you try to balance being a good friend and having healthy boundaries with your co-workers.

Active listening skills…listen in to the things they enjoy on their free time (weekends) when you ask how their weekend went etc.

One of my good friends from work is 15+ years older than me!

Just listen to their kids stories 😅🤧🤣

Sleeping tips??

Ever since Covid I’ve started having trouble sleeping because I dream of attacks happening in various locations (weird I know). I’m normally *very* practical/pragmatic about that sort of thing, and I’m fine again once I wake up, so I’m pretty sure it’s just a reflection of feeling like I can’t control the situation as every time I can’t seem to stop my fiancé from dying no matter what I do :(

Been seeing a guy for a few months now and I can’t stop myself from getting in my head. I’ve never been in a solid relationship before like this and I’m afraid I’m going to mess it up. We’re together most nights and some nights I need a night off or some space, but when I don’t hear from him I get paranoid that I did something.
I don’t know how to just let things be and feel we’re as good as I know we are.

Any tips for hard launching partners on social media? For context, I’ve (Indian American female) been dating my white American boyfriend for 3 years and we just got engaged after two years of convincing my parents. They are very happy and excited now, but I’m scared shitless about being ostracized / judged by my extended family and Indian community in the US once I “let the cat out of the bag” on the engagement news. I want to be proud and confident about this but could use some moral support.

Confession: The only in-law that I had a great relationship with passed away unexpectedly. The two remaining in-laws were on thin ice with me prior due to years of drama, nagging, and disgusting display of wealth. I believe their demand of money and general assholish behavior drove in law to his death. I love my S.O. but I can’t deal with the drama anymore.

I want to have a family and a future that is drama-free and full of love and don’t want to surround myself with negativity.

One of my siblings has a substance abuse problem since their teen years. It’s impacted me and traumatized me deeply. I keep in touch with them regularly because they have small children that I don’t want to be isolated from them in case of a relapse. My sibling thinks I want to have a relationship with them and it triggers me when they say they want to hang out more than what I have boundaries for. I don’t really want a relationship, I just want to stay close to keep an eye on their sobriety.

For anyone in this bowl. How crucial is it for you to have a formal dining room separated from the kitchen? My son and daughter-in-law are buying a house for their future family and I'm trying to convince them a formal dining room looks better and makes things less chaotic in the kitchen, especially with kids. Am I out of touch? Or is it still important?

Not that I’ve worn ties much in the last year, but I made this to get a bit more organized. The pegs are actually bolts for door hinges that I cut down. $1.25 for a 4 pack kept this whole thing under $10
