OP, I’m truly sorry and imagine it must be tough. I’m a pretty social guy so to me that would be quite painful. I don’t mean to be trite, but I’d pick a small social group (if you can), put on the mask and interact with people. Loneliness and depression are real and can be quite damaging to your health. Be smart, be safe, but recognize that human interaction is absolutely essential. Best wishes.
Yeah. Am a single women and live by myself. I though the loneliness was going to break me... but for me luckily I have a sister in Brooklyn who drives- so after a few weeks in isolation she would pick me up and i got to hang with her. That was my only salvation. I understand having kids is hard, I won't minimize that but being by yourself for extended periods of time can cause havoc on your psyche.
How hard has this been living on your own? Working parents with 3 kids between 6 - 12. One of the good thing from all this is the amount of time we have gotten to spend with our kids. Family dinners every night, that never happened during normal times. Fortunate to have a sitter that moved in with us to help with school and now the summer with camps closed.
how much privilege do you want to flaunt to the lonely? Sitter moved in? Jeez. So insensitive.

It’s hard tbh. I am a people person and thrive on interaction with others. It was really getting to me and I found my depression and anxiety increasing. I live in NYC and since we’ve recently moved into phase 3 and transmission rate, new cases, hospitalizations and deaths continue to trend downward, I started to see select friends (with masks on, 6 feet apart, I wear gloves etc.) who I also know are socially distancing. We recently went on a socially distant picnic to central park which was a lot of fun! One of my friends also lives alone and is just as cautious as I am and we are planning a socially distant dinner for this weekend - I will bring my own food and she will have her on food and we will sit 6 feet apart in her living room (her apartment is huge and her living room is big enough that we can each sit on opposite sides and be 6 feet). Perhaps you could start seeing one or two friends who are socially distancing as well, and meet outside check for the part with a mask on for an hour or so? Just even taking a socially distant walk with someone can be really nice.

I managed pretty well for a little over two months before going a bit sir crazy for the third. I definitely appreciate the office, bars, restaurants & people more now that everything’s open again.

I am not in this situation but can you call and FaceTime friends and family? Are there friends you can meet with at a local park where you can wear masks and socially distance? I would try to compensate as much as possible. Hang in there. I know it sucks.
Got a nice house with 2 friends and we are quarantining together.
1-2 months before the pandemic I got a job offer and moved to the US. I have 2 family members here but they dont live close by and they have their own things going on so i only see them ocasionally. I usually facetime family members, go for walks/jogs and play online games with friends on my off time and imo thats keeping pretty sane.
