I’ve driven various c class over the last 8 years and replaced 3 tires for a total of $1200. One running over a nail, 2 from an unavoidable massive pothole. I think the dealer gave you the razzle dazzle
Which CLE, how do you like it so far?
Thinking about a 450 or 53 but haven’t driven one yet
No, I would never get this especially since it looks like you have a documented history on the manner in which you wear out your tires.
Well I did. What got me was the fact that the cabriolet is lower to the ground. Not the end of the world, I guess.
I have an E400 coupe and an X4, and ride height has had no bearing on wheel and tire wear, both sets of tires are sitting on the ground. Said warranty would only be worth it if you got some serious curb rash, and I personally manage cutbs the same in both of my vehicles.
Just cancel it n get a reasonable refund. Had similar one on my Porsche. Didn’t had a claim in first year, second year replaced one n another one developed a small puncture, they refused to replace it saying it was only One per year allowed. Cancelled the plan, took the refund n got all 4 replaced at Costco. N saved another 600$.
W&T insurance is worth every penny - especially if you are driving in a big city
Additional POV. The manufacturers don’t recommend and the brand dealerships won’t replace a run flat with a hole; but I have had a few patched at various mom and pop shops. Never once had an issue with a patch. Mind you it has to be within a certain margin from the sidewall. Also, can’t imagine a new tire would run you more than $400 a piece (this ain’t Porsche or Michelin pilot super sports we’re talking about here). That’s 5+ new tires for the cost of the warranty.
And I’m not here to bash, I too have purchased W&T before. I’ve just never come out ahead.
