My wife has her joining date extended from Randstad and no joining date has been provided. What are the chances of her offer getting revoked. She has around 1 year of experience in HR. They will certainly question it.... I would assume that another b4 would be hesitant if you were let go as part of layoffs. But who knows? One man's trash is another man's treasure.
I don’t think being laid off should be an issue unless the people making the hiring decision have drank the koolaid about the layoffs we’re seeing being “performance based”
All the firms are aware of layoffs and are perfectly willing to welcome talent if there are current openings. Go for it!

It’s all about your story and it sounds like it all makes sense. Just be transparent. Left your first job voluntarily, and then indicate your group was cut simply due to revenues drying up (I.e., market conditions) and not your capabilities - which is supported by recommendations/referrals.
