Since it seems like every service line and every public accounting firm is bleeding people where are all these people going? Are there that many open jobs in industry?

Are therapists typically blunt? I just started seeing one and she made me feel uncomfortable. I wasn’t expecting her to be harsh and negative in her assessment of me.

Is CMA worth getting after getting the CPA? Or is it better to get the CFA. Also don’t have much finance background so I don’t know if I can pass the CFA will require a lot of hard work. Interesting in hearing people’s thoughts.

I have no plans in leaving PA anytime soon but I figure maybe I should look into another certification that holds value and makes me more marketable compared to my peers. Appreciate any thoughts and advice.

We stay until 8 or 9 everyday and then at the end of every week my manager tells me to book only 40 hours. It sucks ass and now I have to explain to my counselor why my utilization is so pedestrian...

Are private companies easier to work at than public companies in accounting? We have such an accelerated close deadline at the publicly traded company I’m at now, I really hate the inflexible tight deadlines and analysis seems to drag on forever after that. We also close AP/AR very early in the month yet that doesn’t stop payments/receipts from happening so we’re constantly adjusting our accruals until the end of month. Do private companies start their close after the month actually ends?
