I am an immigration attorney. I want to make a career change. I don't think practicing the law is for me. I am not happy. I feel underpaid but expected to do more than 40 hours and dealing with an area of law that is very emotionally intense. I am thinking about doing Project Management
( Legal/ E-discovery. I have experience as a contract attorney and I speak Spanish/ Portuguese.
Has anyone made this change? Any suggestions for Certifications?

Transitioning from law firm life after 6 years to corporate counsel in house position. Any good book recommendations to read before transitioning over?

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

For anyone who receives a quarterly bonus or raise in some form, does your employer start to schedule you for less hours when your raise kicks in, or pull you from a future schedule entirely once you receive a bonus; only to put you back on once the hours you would have worked and earned the amount given are passed? Ie; a part time employee getting $200.00 in a quarterly bonus and then not being scheduled a whole week during a bi-weekly pay period where they would have earned more on the clock…?

I have been working remotely since covid getting nothing but positive reviews. My company is not remote friendly and is now telling me I have to return to the office or I lose my job. I just found out a co-worker had a remote position created for them, without a job posting, without an interview and without the experience required (normally a license or certification would be mandatory). I understand life isn’t fair but is there an ethical problem with this?
