Yeah, probably CV selling is easier with your pedigree to the customer and they can sell other tech folks around you as a complete package that's how consulting works

Yes. Probably you should bring a different perspective to the team

You can always learn.. in consulting no one expecta you to be coding anyway ..
You must have joined Accenture? Doesn't make sense
Joined a big 4
You can learn techno functional skills and it’s a good learning for you
Everything is better if you do your part. dunno about those roles exactly but I’ll tell you my understanding- feel free to Correct me if I’m wrong guys, you’ll be MT first become Dy.Manager next and Manager after some time. Ultimately you need to manager these IT folks only. To manage them you’ve to be one of them first and learn how things going on their end then you can understand and easily manage. So first start work with them and then switch to Management side. .. even If you get bored with IT folks then you can go to Management side and it’s easy for you..
Great you'll get to learn...!

1. My guess is that you are from a B-school in Bombay or Pune
2. My guess is that you are not a part of one of the strategy practices, but an implementation/tech team
That’s why you’ve been given this role
If IT interests you- continue
Else I would strongly recommend moving on to something more aligned with your interests.
All the earlier comments seem to be from people who don’t have any exposure to strategy verticals in Big 4 (except maybe Program Manager 1).

It’s ok- take it one step at a time.
Use PMO roles to brush your general consulting skills, build a network etc
Seems like a Big 4 role to me and this is also quite far away from what management consultants do.
If you really want to try MC you should switch in appropriate time before you start getting calls for this specific role. And if you love this role, you will have to update.
Also management doesn’t think through in detail about all candidates so your career onus lies on you buddy!
