I am currently a controller but wondering about getting a few years experience as a controller and moving to a consultant role. Are there companies who do more of a general accounting consulting?

My background is Tax (business, individual, international), financial reporting in an industry setting and manufacturing controller.

A few years out from this but wondering if this is a feasible goal and/or a market for this.

General thoughts, companies, general thoughts all appreciated!

Yup. Really any mid-market accounting advisory shop will take you. Check out CFGI, Effectus Group, Embark, Connor Group to name a few.

We've got technical accounting (which is the equivalent of AAS at most B4s), managed acctg services (which is out/co-sourced in-house accounting for our clients - month-end close, financial stmts prep, etc), systems implementation (netsuite, coupa, floqast, etc), and Risk Advisory (my practice, IA/SOX work). Feel free to DM me if you have any questions, nearly all of our people are ex-B4/midtier folks!

The SA that I was working with at one luxury store has been really unresponsive (5 days before responding; I’d always have to text first to check in). I ended up finding someone else at a different store who’s been amazing; do I owe the first one an explanation? Should I tell them I found someone else? Don’t want to jeopardize my relationship with Cartier or string anyone along, but not sure if there’s standard etiquette here.

So as much as I embrace the tenets of socialism, I have to admit: I'm not a part of a union. I don't know of any programmer's union and I don't know where to start if I want to organize in my own company.

If anyone has any pointers, I'd love some guidance. Also guidance in convincing my coworkers to organize, which might be a hard sell because most of us are pretty happy with our working conditions and pay as far as I can tell.

Looking for some pay range information. I’m a national manager for a home health type setting for Neurodiagnostics. I run 2 departments (EEG technicians and EKG technicians) I have 7 direct reporting managers below me and 100 technicians who umbrella under them and they are scattered across the US. Im in charge of monthly reporting, hiring/firing, assist with recruiting/forecasting where we are having growth, mentor, coaching for development, oversee unit and supply inventory, cont in comments

Hi guys. I have a query with regards to the Income tax proof submission.

So I have claimed exemptions on the following-
1) HRA
2) 5 year term deposit(fixed deposit) under Section 80C
3) Interest on education loan under Section 80E

I have also provided previous employment details.

Guys I didn't know that we have to submit declaration forms as well. Can you please tell me which are the declaration forms that I would need to fill and submit??

Thanks in advance :)

15+ years experience in Forensic Accounting. What would be considered fair pay in the NYC area? Average yearly Billings was 2,500, however recently took over the building out of systems, training younger staff, more marketing in a set region; basically more non billable work.

Honestly working at Big 4 has made me feel worthless. Seems like nothing I do is good enough. I graduated with honors from a large competitive public university. I came in with a positive attitude,I am a very talkative person who had many leadership roles in college, I always stay organize, and I put in the time and continue to look for ways to improve. But constantly feeling like I’m not “type A” enough or that I need to communicate more and prove my worth. Is it like this at other jobs too? :/

I’m generally a pretty prepared person, but having never been to trial, I’m sure there are things I won’t think of that can make all the difference 😬. Thanks I’m advance!!

Hi, My current CTC 19.2 YOE 10, skill set .Net, Azure and K8S.

I have got offer from EY with 28.5 fixed + 2.85 Variable.
Also got breakup of 35(33.25 fixed and 1.75 variable) from ATOS.
When I have tried to re negotiate with EY HR to match amount from ATOS. She was saying EY doesn't have that policy of giving counter offer, her personal thought is won't be possible 99%, but she will update later if there is any scope.

Please share your thoughts shoud I wait for EY GDS or go with ATOS.

Hi everyone, I’m currently a tax associate and just graduated back in May. I’m starting to feel really burnt out and dislike what I do and want to get out of accounting completely. I can’t deal with the hours and the strictness of billing time. My degree is in business admin (I concentrated in accounting) and want to try something else. I’m currently looking into marketing, diff. analyst positions, and some other stuff. Any suggestions/advice would be helpful! Thank you.

I think I’m ready to finally take the plunge and start looking for positions outside public. I’m not sure as a first year senior what I would qualify for or common roles tax seniors exit to. I would definitely be open to no longer working in tax.

Seeing posts about transitioning from PA to Law a lot lately and i’m not gonna lie, I thought I wanted to be a lawyer as a kid but never pursued b/c of confidence issues (knew a few lawyers and where I was at in life at 17, I didn’t think there was a chance to become a lawyer). Now I am in Big 4 and still think about being a lawyer. So i’m now considering law school.
