I am currently a Supply Chain Analyst intern. I am going through training on Network Optimization using Data and Supply Chain Guru. The training is tedious and I just wanted to know if skills in these softwares are applicable to other companies.

I hear a bunch about SAP but my company is just starting the transition into SAP and I won’t be around to see it.

Is it worth deep diving into Supply Chain Guru?

I’m not sure about those specific tools but I can tell you that many companies need someone with expertise in warehouse network/inventory optimization. I’ve worked on this problem in both my former and current company. I was using Python to build some custom models, but you should just look up jobs that mention warehouse network optimization and see what kind of tools they want you to use. If you like these types of problems and are interested in learning Python/R there are many opportunities

like

Yes, there are a bunch of companies which actually use Supply chain guru for optimizing their networks. So enjoy learning the tool! :)

Totally worth your time. Supply Chain Guru has been a life saver for me and at least my past 2 jobs have used it.

Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? I am a 2nd year associate at a plaintiff’s firm specializing in toxic tort cases (individual). I’ve had the opportunity to be third chair on a trial, and will likely be second chair in an upcoming trial. However, given the track record of the firm and the amount of money at stake in each case, I am afraid I won’t get any first chair experience, if any, for at least another 5-7 years. I am considering staying at the firm but trying to get trial experience through side Pro Bono work. Thoughts?

I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. Plus my current financial situation is stressful and I accepted the offer on certain conditions but now hr or the firm but saying we can't committ you. Any suggestions.
