Looks like you’re getting two scoops on the cone. Go get it!
By your new employer? Yes.
You’re on a PIP, they are going to fire you.. PIP is a formality. Double dip till January and quit.
Yes, most people or at least everyone that I know and myself resign from a job, go through the formalities, and then start a new job. I would suspect you are putting your new job at risk as well as your professional reputation by starting a new job while maintaining a prior job that is likely not allowed under your employment contract.
It’s hard to give precise advice without knowing where your new job is, but if it’s a firm that competes with your current firm or a client of your current firm, you need to quit first. Ethically, you should quit first regardless. If you are not putting either employer at risk and your new contract does not preclude outside employment, you could maybe get away with it, but why risk your new job for a bit of extra pay? Just quit EY and start at the new job cleanly.
If you are on a pip, why would they give you a separation agreement. I would assume if you tell them you you want to go, they will say good luck and let you go
On the pip for performance?
Then you are on the way out.
Separation agreement? Does it include severance?
