This is absolutely MAJOR! It takes courage to write a letter like that and I’m so happy to see you standing up for yourself. ❤️
Congratulations! I hope wherever you land next will value you and appreciate your brilliance!
Have a fabulous weekend now 😍
Thank you so much! It took me lots of consideration. The last straw was when they kept forcing me to listen to him no matter what he said because he was the boss. And they forced me to come in earlier while he and another senior worker would still come in after me. After I wrote that letter, both my husband and I knew that they wouldn't let me finish my nearly 2 weeks notice period. And honestly I didn't know how I'd actually finish working through that period. The morning after I turned in that letter, HR (the same person that has been bullying me to submit to this toxic boss) and that boss called me in. She (HR) said I could just go home and they'd pay me for the day and Friday+my remaining PTO. I urged them to investigate further into him (boss) after this. She just smiled and said thank you for my input. She asked that manager if he had anything to add. He asked "So when would her last day be? Is it right now right?"
Anyways, all in all, I only lost 2 days of pay. I've heard from several people on my team that they're trying to find new jobs and just quit soon. Well that page has finally just closed for me. I quit with my dignity and they couldn't accuse me of being insubordinate anymore. They can deal with his compliance issues and his lies from now til eternity.
Wow great letter!!! That took courage to both write and submit publicly! You just opened that door of opportunity for that right fit for you. Congrats and wish you the best on finding your perfect fit!
I am writing to formally resign from my position as __ at__, effective Apr 19, 2024. I have found it increasingly challenging to continue working in an environment that I believe is both toxic and misogynistic.
Throughout my tenure, I have witnessed numerous instances where compliance regulations have been disregarded, professional boundaries have been crossed, and team members have been undervalued, all by the manager. Additionally, the lack of accountability and transparency regarding project deadlines and managerial decisions has further eroded my confidence in the leadership of the organization.
The recent incident regarding the proposed change to my work schedule, followed by a punitive probationary period orchestrated by HR, has played a significant role in solidifying my decision to resign. While I understand the need for operational adjustments, I believe that the proposed change unfairly singles me out, especially considering that each member of the team has varying work schedules. Contrary to suggestions made by management, my work schedule has not adversely affected productivity. Any claims suggesting otherwise are unfounded.
It is clear to me that my concerns regarding the toxic work environment and the managerial incompetence have not been adequately addressed, and I no longer feel valued or respected as an employee.
I want to express my gratitude for the opportunities for growth and development that __ has provided me during my time here. However, I believe it is in the best interest of my well-being and professional integrity to resign. I will be taking the remaining PTO from Apr 17-19, 2024.
I sincerely hope that __ will take steps to address the underlying issues that have led to my decision to resign. I wish the organization success in the future. Thank you for your understanding.
My husband and I had many discussions about my work situation. He fully supports and encourages my final decision. He's been my rock and I'm grateful. I'm blessed to have a supportive husband and a good saving to help me heal from the past toxic job.
Congratulations! That is worth celebrating, regardless of what others may say.
Yes it absolutely is!
Good for you! Thinking of doing the same, myself!
Thank you. I wish you the best in making the most suitable decision for yourself. It took me a depressing 7 months to arrive at my final decision. Now it's time for me to heal and get ready for the next steps.
My husband just got a job offer yesterday with a 50% pay raise. God is so good. I can't think of a better time for this to happen. I'm so emotional right now. Thank you to everyone for reading my post and sharing the tremendous amount of support. I hope that anyone who's struggling with bad circumstances/bosses at work will figure out the most suitable solution. I hope that your mental health will get better and the same as your situation. Now, I'm back to my job search. I'd appreciate any referral or insight for any Analyst/PM/Project Coordinator/Scientist position in any industry. I have 7+ YOE combined in pharma, environment, agriculture, and management. I have a BS in Chemistry and an MBA in Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management. I'm well-versed in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data. I've managed daily laboratory operations as well as coaching and providing helpful resources with any teammates with less tenures. I'm an expert in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint for data reports and presentations.
I just did that last month! Way to go!

Well done on making that decision! Nothing is more important than our overall wellbeing.
Am holding my fingers crossed for you to find a new amazing job as soon as possible :)
Thank you for the wishes and the support. It means a lot to me!
I am proud of you !
Oh my gosh thank you so much. My husband has been telling me the same thing but I'm just so happy to hear it from others as well ❤️
Congratulations!
So proud of you. I am an immigrant and I have a very toxic boss who was also an immigrant. Has issues with me taking my parental leave that I am entitled to take. Throws rude comments at me and cuts we me off during meetings. Has pre conceived notions about women returning from maternity leave that they can’t perform at their 100%. I am crying at my desk every hour of the day. I am dumped with work that needs at least 15 hrs of my day everyday. If I quit, I lose my visa. If I stay, I am lose my sanity and need to ignore my newborn baby. I feel so helpless. I can’t report to the HR because guess what? My manager is a woman and the Diversity & Inclusion executive and has access to all the complaints.
I am so sorry to hear about your situation. I was an immigrant as well. The toxic boss that I quit from was also an immigrant. For whatever reason I've had bad management experiences with Southeast and East (SE/E) Asian bosses. I'm Southeast Asian. I find that SE/E Asian bosses love making commands and have no idea how to make personal conversations about anything with their employees. A lot of them have no respect for people working under them. If the employees have any disagreement with the bosses professionally, they'll be called insubordinate. I hope you'll find a good solution to your problem. It's unfair that you have to go through so much as a new mom. I'm praying for all the best to come to you and your family.
Amazing!
Mic drop! Let’s goooooooo!
Congratulations!! Great letter, well done! Cheers to your bright future!
You should sue them! There are good attorneys that won't charge you, they will just take their funds from the settlement
Thank you for taking the initiative! You can only go higher!
Name the company. Or even just the state and industry.
It's laboratory testing services for agriculture products in Kansas City, MO
