How early is too early to ask for a raise?
Hello Guys,
I joined Cognizant recently, the project interview calls which I am getting is not from my base location.
I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?
As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

I'd keep interviewing but only pull the trigger if the total package is meaningfully better, not just base. Factor in the bonus structure, benefits, PTO, commute, team culture, everything. A $10K bump that comes with worse insurance and an extra hour of commuting isn't really a raise. But if the full picture is better and the role is more interesting, 14% is a solid reason to move. You don't need to hate your job to leave it.
This is a good take, thanks SE1
Moving for a 14% increase seems like it would be at the low end of what someone would require. However, if you'd be moving to a company you'd rather work for that might be a good reason. Or if you thought there was greater chance for advancement. It's still a raise, and if it holds promise for the future it might be worth more than it seems just going by the numbers.
This is true, I’d have to think about other factors as well beyond just the salary
Salaries in PA have really caught up to industry since Covid. I know people who took the same or a slight decrease to move for better wlb. While it does happen it’s not as common to get a 25%+ increase when jumping anymore.
Thanks for this context KPMG1 - maybe my expectations are too high
How much you among now? And to get 10k more than what yr making now , that's not enough? There's ppl living paycheck to paycheck. Significantly less than 10k a month.
Thanks for the reminder, Daniel. Gratitude always 🙏
Have you seen the job market?! You’re lucky you’re standing to get a double digit increase! Take it!! Leaving Deloitte is always a good thing, leaving for ANY increase in this market is a very good thing, leaving for 14% is a very very good/great thing. Dont look back!
Thanks EY1 - I don’t have an offer just yet, but appreciate the comment
I once switched companies to go from a 165k base to a 185k base pay. Only to get there and find that the medical, dental, and vision benefits for my family were 1k a month more. Making my effective raise be 8k instead of 20k.
