I dont need a data scientist. I need someone with more technical skills than a traditional business analyst but not necessarily the full data science suite.

What would you call that role?

Gartner calls it Citizen Data Scientist and I think thats stupid.

Im currently going through industry change.
Im a pastry cook with 4yrs experience and the average salary start for this position is now at $22/hr here in vegas, especially in the strip. But cooking/baking is not my passion. So im changing into veterinary medicine and im seeing that the starting rate for a vet tech is around $16-18. Why is that?? Why are people in the vet med industry being paid so low?? Something needs to change. Labor of love aint enough for the people in this job.

So pretty much you work In consulting, get paid half of what fang people make and In many cases work IB hours to meet clients continually changing demands . All the while the consulting project is built on a half thought out rushed tech stack/architecture? Meanwhile tech companies expose their employees to best in bread tech stacks?
