Sitting at a desk for 8 hours isn’t productivity—it’s performative nonsense. If breaks help you do better work, take them without guilt. Neurotypical norms shouldn’t dictate how all brains function.

Studies have shown that periods of "daydreaming" are better for creative thinking and problem solving. Take as many breaks as you need to fuel the ND superpowers.
Also, I can guarantee you those others you think are working so hard? They're slacking off, too.

I have to take breaks however I’m work from home so no one really knows what that looks like but me lol but if I take even a 5 minute reset I’m so much more productive then trying to power through take the time you need and plus it’s so much healthier to move around a bit during the work day! If anyone questions you just say I like to move my body every so often to keep my blood flowing and stay healthier ♥️

So now I give myself much more leeway on getting up and taking breaks. Move my legs or sometimes even a short nap.
I spend less time ✌️working✌️, but I definitely get more done overall.

Can you have an exercise ball break or something else physical?
Have you heard of the Pomodoro Method? It’s a framework where you intentionally work in spurts with short breaks at the end. It’s effective for all kinds of people but especially ADHD. Sometimes it helps me to frame it as a productivity method instead of a personal accommodation. Remind yourself this is how you manage your time to be productive and that is a very professional and not at all lazy thing to do. You’re simply worker smarter instead of harder 🤷🏼♀️
