I get that a huge part of advertising is creating and sharing presentations. I am great at putting them together, but when it comes to presenting, I like to hold back because I am super conscious about my accent, even though I speak the language fluently. I've tried multiple things to feel more confident but it's just too hard for me. Would this hurt my chances of being in leadership roles?

Having an accent won’t automatically block you from leadership. The lack of an ability to convey your thoughts might. What really matters is your clarity, confidence, and ability to connect. Many leaders have accents and still inspire their teams. Keep practicing, focus on your message, and use your unique perspective as a strength.

I resigned last month and my manager said he is trying to retain me. I had a call with HR and I explained my expectation. Now, I am getting profiles daily to evaluate. Candidate has similar experience and working on the same technology stack.
I knew that my manager is looking for my replacement but he is still pretending that he will retain me. I don't understand why he is doing like that.
Do I need to evaluate the profiles?

I’m reviewing my resume getting ready to start my job search and have a question for recruiters, hiring managers. I’m looking for a role brand-side not agency side. Specialist roles aside, such as digital, when you see someone describing themselves as a “generalist marketer” is this a resume you’d pass on? My past roles have been such that I do a lot of marketing projects, tasks etc. but I’m not a specialist. I’m worried if I use this terminology I won’t even be considered for a role. Thank you

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.
