I had a FAANG final round on Monday, and I just got a final round at another company. FAANG is my first choice. I once successfully put pressure on MBB to expedite my process because I had an *offer* from another company, but would it hurt to reach out to my recruiter with something like "I am absolutely confident after my interview with X that if Y offered me this job, I'd 100% accept their offer without hesitation, as long as I receive Y's offer first," if I don't yet have the other offer?

I'm applying for a job that wants at least two business or professional references. Thing is my current job is my first job out of college and I don't want them contacting my current employer. Who am I suppose to list as a reference? Leave it blank although they personally asked for references? List college professors? Ask a coworker to be a reference and not spread work I'm leaving?

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

Reading through some possible interview questions for FAANG. One of the ones I've seen on Glassdoor are to design a basic architecture structure for something like Netflix or Twitter or Spotify. I've been researching online using AWS or GCP (still learning all the moving parts of architecture). Any advice on how the setup would be? I'm assuming you'd start with some Load Balancers. For Netflix maybe have different different APIs for signing up vs scrolling through possible movies?

Just finished the last of FIVE video interviews for a new position and have to share a tip that helped me every step of the way: taping talking points to the wall right above my screen. I carefully considered my answers to the top ~4 questions I thought they might ask and wrote large bullet points for myself. It kept me on track, focused, and eloquent. Highly recommended for anyone else doing video interviews!

What advice would you give to so@wine who joined a start-up but is realizing that the company is sinking more than swimming? How do I talk about that if I start a job search? Do I just look like a jerk? I’m giving it a few more months before I decide to start a search, if only so I have programs running instead of leaving them in a lurch.

I just got an offer at a big tech company for a contract role. I'm 24 with 2 YOE and the offer is close to $100/hr. My recruiter at the staffing agency asked if I want to negotiate a higher rate — which I know is in their business interests, but the rate I was offered is very generous to me, and I know the company is tightening its belt right now. Should I just accept, or am I not thinking in a silicon valley salary mindset - where pay like this is the norm, and I should negotiate a bit higher?

Fellas with kids, how did their mother's sex drive change over time?

We had our 3rd kid a few months ago and there's been a pretty drastic change over time.

1st: No change in sex life up to the birth, then her sex drive came back about 4 months post-birth.

2nd (+3 yrs): Mild decline in sex life during pregnancy, her sex drive came back about 3 months-post birth.

3rd (+2 yrs): Severe decline in sex life during pregnancy, 4 months post birth and no sign of her sex drive coming back yet.

Is being sentimental the same as being emotional?
