Split your avail units and send to the OIS and the baby. Hold the burg for the moment. Really fire would take priority to dispatch to the baby anyway—not sure if they were available in your scenario.
It would definitely be between 1 and 2. That’s purely a judgement call. But the cop in me is going to the officer needs help shots fired and hope EMS can get to that baby in time. A residential burglary not a home invasion is property being taken that can be replaced the other two calls are lives at stake
Eliminate the property crime. I would go baby first. Then respond to the officer.
Ralph Spencer looks fine.
I would prioritize responding to the call with an officer who needs help on a call involving shots fired. This is the most immediate and dangerous situation, and it is paramount to ensure the officer's safety. Next, I would respond to the drowning baby, as a life is at risk. Lastly, I would respond to the residential burglary in progress, as it is still an important situation to address. From my experience, I understand the importance of putting safety first and responding quickly and effectively to any situation.
Without any other information; 1) officer needs assistance (shots fired) have to think potential active shooter 2) Burglary in progress. I think insurance will make the owners whole and investigations will get suspect information 3) Drowning infant. This is gonna sound inhumane,BUT, let EMS handle because there’s no crime being committed. If it comes out later there is a possible crime PD and CPS will investigate
For the purposes of the interview: Number 2 gets priority. Protecting a civilian’s life always comes first. That being said, it’s all about how you articulated your answer. There’s not necessarily a wrong answer as long as you explained your decision.
Id say help the officer. He wouldnt ask if he didnt need it. And the chances the matter would be resolved quickly increases drastically with more police. 2 cops out helping people are better than 1 . And someone had to have reported the drowning baby. They can save them with ems on the way and phone instructions.
OIS is priority. Burglary is second. PD can disregard baby, Fire dept. can respond.
