Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Can you get me a job as well?
Well, I'd ask some of the obvious... I've interviewed with McK and it's rough. When they give you a problem to solve in an interview they aren't happy for you just to get to the path / structure. They actually want the answer. So, I wish I'd asked a little bit more about what actually happens in interviews as obvious as that seems.
I also would ask about some of the realities of work at McK. For example, both Accenture and Deloitte sold me on being able to staff globally but I found out it's not true... Next time I interview I'm really going to dig in on that because that's one reason I would leave ACN. So, think about the things that are really important to you and the ones that may be different in practice than on paper and ask about those
Ask any and all legitimate questions that you have but won’t have time to ask during your case/PEI interviews. Also, they may be willing to do a practice case with you, which can be super helpful, particularly if you aren’t familiar with McKinsey’s interviewer-led case approach.
What type of work they do, how they decided where to build specialization, how / if the type of work has changed at all with COVID (outside of not travelling, which they were presumably always doing before), and asking for any tips as you approach the process are likely safe / will make you look interested. + any questions you are generally curious of that you think they may have insight into, of course.
What a great idea!! Note to self! Present to firm as great idea and get rewards! I’m a scholar!
