I have a Bachelor's Degree, but I'm wondering if a Master's would help me earn more or advance in my career. Does anyone have any insight about whether or not a Master's can make much of a difference for a Transport Planner?

I have my masters and currently work in Transportation and Logistics. Masters degree won’t fetch you much knowledge. Replace it with

1. Certification like APICS (CLTD)
2. Request for cross training within your organization to learn more skill.
3. Learn tableau or powerBI for reporting purpose.

#1 & #3 cost you very little compared to the cost of masters degree.
#2 is free given you devote some extra hours of your day to learn new skills.

Awesome, thanks so much!

Having the appropriate degree is an advantage. How much more getting a Master's. It will give you so much advantage when it comes to promotion and salary negotiation. Salary range is affected by factor like education and certifications. The more you have it, the more advantage you get.

My 2 cents - i have a masters in operations and i can tell u it will make a big difference provided its from a good school. I have seen for friends that this opened significantly new doors for them

Community, I’ve been meeting with a lot of people regarding next steps in my career. One of the best pieces of advice I received is to avoid micro-managing executive staff (agency leadership), as it puts downward and unwelcome pressure on people’s managers and ultimately oneself. Based on your experience in the last 2 years are there:
- Agencies you would steer clear from because their leadership micromanages
- Agencies you would recommend because their leadership gives you room to grow

Thx 🙏🏼

Is there a difference in value between pursuing an MBA at an accredited, but not ivy, and a certification (business analytics or CIA)?

Does one provide more value than the other? I've heard the MBA's shine is dimming and don't want to waste time if a certificate can do the same for me.

What is the difference between an illegal Hiring Hall Agreement & Software Certification?
For example, a software company issues its own certification that its partners enforce as a requirement to work in the industry by searching that software's website for ensure applicants have certification. To legally recommend who can work, a Hiring Hall is required to be certified by the majority of workers in construction or garment industries. How is software certs able to avoid this law?
