Hey all- posting about some new NFTs that are just coming out for the Dream DAO. Essentially, each minted NFT and subsequent sale helps seed fund projects for a non profit for Gen Zers called Civics Unplugged. The non profit is backed by Andrew Yang, the Rock and others. Regardless of if you like the NFTs, it’s a cool project to get involved in / read more about. https://opensea.io/collection/skywalkerz

Have a kid. You'll forget all about space

I love how “get a bigger apartment or house” is something people just loosely throw around as a no-brainer solution … in this housing market, in this economy 😂
Some of you are 🤡🤡🤡
That’s what I was thinking.
Can you get a bigger house or build an offshoot home office so at least he’s technically in another building? Might be worth it if WFH is permanent.

Go rent some space at wework! It’s not expensive and will provide the sanity you need. Maybe you can encourage him to do that or you could swap weeks being at home or the wework office with him.

Where do you both work? Fully remote sounds awesome... I want to get in on that sweet deal.
Bigger house or someone/both has to go to the office from time to time

That’s a tough one. You could do coffee shop/library but both could be problematic if you need to be in a lot of meetings. Have you tried just talking to him about it? Is there no office for either of you?
Why don’t you go in the office for a change? Maybe he doesn’t enjoy being with you 24/7 either.

My bf and I are both WFH and we live in a one bedroom with a dog. I have a desk in the bedroom and he’s in the living room. My bf was supposed to be in the office but they wanted him on a different team that’s WFH.
During the pandemic, we were at a different place different state but both in the same room and I often sat on the porch till 1 pm and then came inside lol.
We will try finding a place that’s more WFH-friendly after our lease is up. We’ve made it work because we pretty much do our own thing during the day and only have a “deep” conversation when we take the dog out for a walk or at the end of the workday. Otherwise, we’re pretty busy with our own work. If I don’t have anymore meetings for the day, I’ll occasionally go to a nearby coffee shop.

Weather is warming up. Get patio furniture and take turns outside. It’s great working in the sunlight.

Daytime spouse swap. Send hubby over to another friend's house; have someone else come over. I will stop here, your choice whether to keep this clean or make it interesting

Was in a similar situation for months when covid started. It was annoying not having your own work space privacy. I had to be direct that I didn’t want to be distracted with him walking in and out of the room I work in especially because I’m always in meetings. If you can afford it, I also recommend getting a wework space

Rent a small office near the house. Look for a small stand alone office or as an office sharing/sublet arrangement in a small accounting or law office.

My wife and I both WFH. We’re 15 ft apart across the hall in different bedrooms. On busy meeting days I often won’t see her all day. I suggest getting a bigger. Apt or house with some guest rooms or office you can use. I added a desk to one of our guest rooms with a bed so it’s dual purpose.

We are in the same situation. For 2 years. We have two separate work spaces in the house and get out of the house separately. Now that things are opening up a bit here, we will likely get out more. One nice side effect is that with my SO wfh, they have started cooking dinner and getting groceries about 50% of the time whereas it was about 10% of the time before. I totally get what you are saying!!
Groceries are not so bad when organized. 1-2 trips a week
Separate work spaces within the home if you have the space to make that work. If not, a change of scenery is always a good idea, like going to the library, a coffee shop, or even Panera (if there is one in your area). Or maybe a friend or family member could offer you a space in their home a couple of days a week.
