DM me for a referral!

I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?

You're way over thinking it. They won't rescind the offer if you try to negotiate. In fact, it's expected. You don't need to play hard ball and make a big thing out of it, just say "given the duties and responsibilities of this role I'd feel more comfortable with $XXX". If they won't budge then take the offer if it works for you but there's absolutely no harm in trying. You will kick yourself later if you didn't at least try.

I would do my research on what's the possible salary range, and there isnt anything wrong in asking.. if its more than what you get today and you are happy with the comp structure then its okay
Definitely understand the salary range. If they start with a low initial offer, you will want to counter. Knowledge is power.
Just think about what you need and then go from there. Maybe add a bit on top for if they try to bargain you down. What do you need to be comfortable? Think of yourself. It’s about you, you are getting paid by a corporation, not a person. Corporations don’t have feelings. Your manager truly doesn’t give a crap what he’s going to pay you (probably as long as he’s paid more 😂)
