Chubb is so big that it really depends on your department, location, and manager. I personally have not experienced the “high workload” that I keep hearing about. Sure sometimes things are crazier than other times but nothing not manageable. I started 4 years ago as a processing associate, then a commercial lines UA and now a financial lines UW and have loved every minute.
If the tech position is for small/lower middle market 100% expect a heavy workflow along with MAYBE three months of Webex training. But it is very much a learn as you go role. There is a designated trainer to help you with any ops difficulties.
It’s not chill by any means, but it’s manageable if you’ve been in high-stress roles before. Think of it like a sprint for the first 12–18 months. A lot of people do bounce once they get that experience, but some stay and move into leadership or specialized UW roles. Depends on your goals.
Chubb has its own corporate culture- cult like. We used to refer to it as if it were a separate person in the room. It’s not for everyone, but the benefits are great. Five years to get vested. You must drink the cool-aide to survive there though.
