Eww…I 100% would not enjoy that one. Then again, my travel team is fantastic. They never let me down.

Having worked in Benefits for 10 years, there really are no benefits I would want a cash equivalent. Most are incredibly low-cost, so there is little incentive there. The typically most expensive one, Medical, also happens to be the one that is most advantageous to have your employer own a cost share of the premiums. And the pre-tax nature of your premiums makes it super helpful for your finances.
Long-Term Disability and Company Provided Life Insurance might be okay cash equivalents, but only as you get older and earn higher rates of pay. A 30-year old earning $50K is going to cost incredibly little for these coverages whereas a 50-year old earning $190K is going to be pretty expensive. An employer is unlikely to calculate age/salary band rates for these benefits to convert into cash equivalents, so those are unlikely to be viable.
No…I would not like this approach. Hard pass.
I would say when companies send up devices, I would rather have them send me the money because I'm sure I can find a sufficient device that not brand new for half the price.
I would absolutely not compromise on health benefits, but benefits like gym reimbursement, discounts etc,I am willing to take in the extra cash rather than going through the hassle of reimbursement..
